Robin Padilla is one of President Rodrigo Duterte’s most vocal supporters. Since the presidential elections last May 2016, the actor has been very adamant about his preference for Duterte and how he fully supported the latter’s ideologies and stance for “change.”
In fact, Robin Padilla has been granted executive clemency from the president himself on November 2016, according to ABS-CBN News. The source cited that the actor received an executive pardon which restored his civil and political rights.
This enabled Robin Padilla to get a US visa so that he could be with his wife, Mariel Rodriguez, and their child. This indicated how much Duterte appreciates the fact that Robin is one of the celebrities who supports his administration.
The actor is almost always the one who defends Duterte from critics and other famous people who are against the president, particularly his statements.
He showed just how loyal he is to Duterte and the YouTube account ‘Philippines News’ revealed a 20-minute long video that showed Robin expressing his sentiments on certain people in the administration who do not actively support the president.
However, as the video goes on, the actor reveals that he is in front of the Four Seasons Hotel Lion Palace, where Duterte stayed in Russia. He also mentions that a business forum happened there. Robin was referring to Philippines-Russia business forum that happened on May 25, Thursday.
The actor continues talking and then says: “Ramadan po kasi kaya ‘di ako makapag-mura, bawal. Madami din po akong gustong murahin eh. Nakapadami po. Eh… nakapa-swerte po ng mga tao na ‘yan at Ramadan.”
“Bawal po sa’kin makipag-murahan. Pero gusto ko lamang pong sabihin, dito sa mga taong ito na walang magawa kundi manira, na sobrang ang gagaling na tao, kung makapagsalita, para namang may mga nagawa na sa bayan.”
At this point, it could be deduced that he was talking about certain government officials in the administration. He goes on to say:
“Kung sino man yung nagpapakalat na nag-aaksaya kami ng pera, gusto naming sabihin na pamasahe namin ito.. Hindi po kami gumamit ng tax ninyo pati yung ginagastos namin, pera namin yun kahit noong kampanya sapagkat ito ang malasakit at pagmamahal namin sa bayan.”
